I miss "Chappelle's Show"

I was watching some of Chappelle's Show last weekend and I really miss the show.

He's a genius and what do they replace it with...? Carlos "DEE-DEE-DEE" Mencia.

Mencia isn't even funny! All he's got is "DEE-DEE-DEE"! But what worked with Chappelle's Show is that he poked fun at everyone...not just a certain person.

Is it August?

This weather sucks!

It feels more like September 30th rather than August 30th!

The Rutles

I just watched "All You Need is Cash" and that was one of the best mockumentaries ever. The most clever thing was that George Harrison and Eric Idle had the idea for awhile.

I just hope that there can be a movie that uses Rutles songs...but maybe there will be.

Fantasy Hockey

Fantasy Baseball is coming to a close.
Fantasy Football is coming unraveled.

But what I would like to do is...Fantasy Hockey! Sure, many people snub this sport because it's nothing but fighting and a Canadian Sport, but it's more than that...it's a tough sport.

But what I would like to do is be in a fantasy hockey group since I like hockey and soccer.

The Kennedys

Ted Kennedy has died yesterday. Now he's with John and Rob as well as JJ.

The Kennedys have been through it all. Curses, scandals, you name it. And even though we didn't like them much...they were one thing...human.

And may Ted Rest in Peace.

Poorest Cities in America

This is usually the week where I get concerned...where we find out what city is the poorest in the nation.

It's usually Detroit, but Cleveland could be #1. Other cities such as Cincinnati and Buffalo may be up there. The other concern is...Ohio since it boasts the two poverty-stricken cities.

How will this end?

Bad Disney? Part 1

When you were a child, you at least watched one Disney film. But some things may seem wrong with a Disney Film...and no, I don't mean Donald Duck not wearing pants and one of his running gags is being Duck Naked (which I will explain in a later blog).

Today, we see "The Little Mermaid", my 2nd-favorite Disney Flick (The one I like more is "The Three Caballeros"). What I ask myself is...what the hell? Were these pics accident or did the animator get sooooo upset that he decided to put these things in a family movie and maybe the children won't notice? Well, whatever it is, it makes Disney a bad name.

Parmatown Mall...a dead mall?

I went to Parmatown Mall two years ago and all of the stores still had its tenants.

I went there last may and half of the tenants have left. Most of the store is advertising for the stores that are still open. And since the bus service will be cutting down...there may be less.

I think Parmatown Mall is a dying mall like Randall Park except in a slower decline.

The Rust Belt

Where I live is the Rust Belt. It's an area where a lot of industry was at. Steel, Coal, Metal,... But after the 60's, most of the industry went south...and so did the cities.

Where it got hit the hardest were the big cities such as Cleveland, Detroit, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh. And smaller cities such as Youngstown and Allentown got wiped-off the map comepletely.

I hope one day this area would be the Steel Belt once again like it was before!

Brazil

One of the biggest countries in the world (Land and Population) is Brazil.

To me, Brazil is more different than any other country. Sure, America has an eclectic climate and people, but Brazil is a Latin Country...but then again...it isn't!

First-The language is Portuguese, a sister to the Spanish Language.
Second-The people are white, black, mixed, Indian, and Asian. Not many Hispanic Countries are like this.
Third-The lifestyle. Sure, the music came from Africa, but their food and music is a blend.

I wish to go there one day and see what they have to offer.

Computers

Sometimes they have a mind of their own. Like my computer insists that it turns on to IE everytime I log on. Why?

And how many times do I have to reboot the thing and it will always go slow when it shouldn't!

I think my computer needs a tune-up!

Happy 40th Woodstock!

The concert of concerts has turned 40 this year and how do they celebrate? A Special DVD and CD pack.

But even though the concert was a big hit, many people worried that it wouldn't be. 15 years ago, there was Woodstock '94. But it came and went, then came the infamous Woodstock '99. Not only there were riots and fights, but no one from the original Woodstock showed up! (Now I can see why).

There never has or never will be a concert like Woodstock again.

An end of an era.

We moved the rest of the stuff from my Grandma's old house.

She's now in an apartment that's closer to us and now we won't be going an hour to get there...it's now 10 minutes.

And as for my uncle...he'll get his.

The Purpose-Driven Life

I haven't picked up that book in over a year and I wonder if that was a fad that made Rick Warren famous?

Now the book has 40 chapters and you should read a chapter a day. 40 chapters=40 days.

I read this book many times and yet...I still haven't changed. Heck, my walk with God seems to be dwindling. :(

The 00's

They seemed to suck. Don't get me wrong with 2000 and 2001, but after 9/11 everything went to hell.

I'm not anti-Bush, but he didn't help this decade. But what was wrong was...entertainment!

Look, we have Britney Spears and Tyler Perry for music, Survivor and Big Brother for TV Shows, and nothing but remekes in movies! C'mon guys, did you lose all your originality?

Dick Cheney

Now I never liked Dick Cheney and he's becoming more outspoken every day.

He's now ranting about George W. Bush. Okay, Bush may not be the most liked guy and is now the 7th worst President ever...but his administration is done!

I have to ask you Dick Cheney...why do you act like a dick?

My Political Opinions

I'm not a Liberal nor a Conservative. I didn't like how Clinton wouldn't settle Al-Qadea nor I didn't like W. Bush's handling with the Iraq War.

I'm a Moderate.

But...I also hold some religious moralities. I feel it's wrong to have sex before marriage, I feel it's wrong to let women have abortions, and I feel it's wrong to have same-sex marriage.

But if those things happen...I can't stop it. I can't change the world, for the world can't be changed. They tried for so many centuries, but failed.

And as for Obama...only time will tell!

Hover Fly

One of the most underrated insects are Hoverflies.

Hoverflies look like bees, but unlike bees they don't sting, they have two wings instead of four, their antenna are smaller, and their eyes are completely different.

Now what would you rather have on your hand?

The larvae of the hoverfly eats destructive insects such as aphids, scale insects, and whiteflies.

The adult is very good with pollination of flowers and the only thing that can stop hoverflies are spiders, wasps, and flycatchers.

You what boils my blood...Public Transportation!

Today, a bus passed by and it said that they can't accept anymore passengers. Not only that, but now they want to raise their prices because they have no money! I had to pay $.60 for Bus Fare in 2006, now it's a buck. They make the passengers wait and suffer.

If they raise the price of Bus Fare by September 1, I'm walking!

An Involunteer

I was at a Church Picnic and I did some things out of my free will.

I call this being an involunteer. It's when someone tells you that "You're doing nothing...do something" point of view. But I was okay today because I did some stuff out of my own free will...and that's what I perfer.

The 90's

It seemed that the 90's was a good decade. Not only the years of my youth was then, but there was good music (Nirvana, Green Day, Hootie and the Blowfish), movies (Titanic, Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan), and TV Shows (Friends, Seinfeld, Home Improvement). We even had the bit wars and the internet, and yes...Bill Clinton.

Now I'm not a fan of the Clintons, but it seemed that he was our feel-good president. Sorry Obama, but he was the JFK of our time.

Today...we have nothing. No good music (I kissed a girl), no good movies (another remake of something), and no good TV Show (Reality Shows). It seems that there's no escape from the real world!

I wish the 2010's can bring back this better point-of-view with TV and all that.

Living at home sucks!

I've been living here for 26 years and now I'm at the point that I hate it, but I've been waiting for 26 years and I can't take it anymore!

It wouldn't be bad...but I'm the oldest one in my family...but I might as well call myself the youngest. I can't even afford to live by myself nor find a roomate!

I don't know what my behavior will be tomorrow, but it won't be any better!

Sawflies

Sawflies are probably one of the most complexed insects in the Bee/Ant/Wasp Family.

They look like wasps, but they don't sting. They look like caterpillars, but they have extra legs and less eyes.

Sawflies are insect pests and can destroy many trees as well as shrubs. But...there's many preadators to the sawfly such as chickadees, ants, tachnid flies, and even woodpeckers eat the sawfly larvae. Rodents such as shrews and mice eat the coccons of sawflies. And the adult sawfly has to be aware of wasps and spiders. Sometimes chemicals control the population of these sawflies.

Where is God?

It's been a bad year for me. Nothing really went right, I got my Drivers License, but I still don't have a car. I have a job that's less than minimum and no raise, and as for a relationship with a girl...you can forget about that!

As I thought I would be out of the desert, I'm still in the desert. And I prayed about my problems, but it seems that God won't answer me. My life's a joke and God is there doing nothing!

God, why did you forsake me?

This Summer

It finally feels like summer...Finally!....

It did nothing but rain and it basically dampened my summer. I wish it wouldn't rain that much the way it did this year, because July was an abnormal year here in Cleveland for weather.

Instead of 90 Degree Julys, we had rain. I hope for August and September to be better.

What boils my blood...Part 1

You know what boils my blood...? Library DVD's!

I get them every time and what happens? They're scratched! I try cleaning them, but they still skip. This would be when I would just give up and tell them that the DVD I got was scratched very badly and it needs to be cleaned professionally. This is ludicrous, but it seems like you get what you pay for...and since you get the DVD free, you get a DVD that's scratched.

Well, I think it's better to just buy the DVD rather than go through the mess with Library DVD's.

Religion=/=Politics

I didn't go to church this Sunday because...we just didn't!

Well, first I work at my own church and second, I feel that right now it's becoming more of a buisness rather than a church. There's going to be a picnic there next sunday as well as a traditional service. But what got me mad was that when I work at the church, I feel that the buisness is more important rather than the church itself.

Just like the Church of Epeshus, my own church lost its first love and everyone got too greedy, even the volunteers do too.

Save Our Stations!

Lately, I have been hearing people complain about stations called TVLand, CN, and others. I've been complaining too because what they did was lose their identity. For example-The Disney Channel, when it launched in 1982, it played old Disney Show reruns and Disney cartoons. Today the only thing Disney about it is its name...and "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse".

Also, many other stations have changed formats lately. For example, TNN was The Nashville Network and they would play country music (At this time, the 90's, there was a big country revival). But around 2000, it became The National Network and soon Spike TV. This station became a station for men.

Station identification (to me) is very inportant because if stations like MTV would stop playing Music Videoes...then why call it MTV?!

The downfall of TV (especially Cable TV) is Reality Shows and ratings. It seems that Reality Shows are very cheap to make so these TV Stations make Reality Shows. And since that's the big thing right now, these stations will be airing more Reality Shows by the droves.
